“Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each of you is to return to your family property and to your own clan.” — Leviticus 25:10
Reaching this important milestone has afforded us an excellent opportunity to reflect on God’s work through Palma Ceia since 1968. But we are not just looking back. Our anniversary theme, “50 Years and Counting—A Spiritual Jubilee” is a Biblical reminder that God allows His people to start over—again and again—and begin a new chapter.
Just as fifty years ago no one could have anticipated the technological and societal realities that exist today, we do not know what the next fifty years will bring. However, we do know that whatever awaits, people will need a loving church where God’s Word is declared, and we are confident that Palma Ceia will rise to the challenge!
We look forward to what God is planning for the next fifty years! May God’s choicest blessings be yours, and may you continue to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth!

Dr. Stanley Long and Bishop J.W. Macklin provided special reflections on what was happening around the world and in the local community as Palma Ceia Church began its journey.
A Look Forward
Jordan Overshoun-Hall delivered a message of hope for our congregation that encouraged the Palma Ceia family to honor our past while never forgetting to share God’s love with everyone who walks through our church doors in the coming years. She had a special message for the church on how to make sure we pass the torch on to our young people, who are the future of Palma Ceia Church. Here is an excerpt:
“I’d love for Palma Ceia to still be here in another 50 years as a community cornerstone. Known for, if nothing else, as a place where people from all walks of life, feel love and accepted. To come to this place and meet with these people and feel God. And to know God is real because they feel it through us. Through the way we interact with others and with each other.
Young people are watching. We take note of everything. How people conduct themselves. How people talk about each other. The type of activities the church engages in or doesn’t engage in. And no one expects perfection, because we are human. But young people are looking for a genuine effort. That decision makers are concerned about the well-being of the youth and are genuinely interested in helping them to grow in the most loving way possible.
So I urge Palma Ceia not only to look to the young people who you feel embody those traits, but help young people to embody those traits. And in the same breath, ensure that the church embodies those traits so that everyone who comes through those doors feels God’s presence and feels at home.”
